Spring is finally upon us! And while we’re still a little while away from being able to open our doors, we’re thrilled to still be able to offer a host of creative activities online this Easter!
Having previously delivered a range of successful, Inclusive workshops in person, The Courtyard’s Education team have worked alongside a variety of accessible arts practitioners to create a series of digital alternatives. The workshops are suitable for young people aged 10-15 with or without additional learning needs or disabilities.
Monday 12 April, 10am (via Zoom)
In this fun and engaging workshop, participants will be introduced to Open Theatre’s nonverbal physical theatre practice and encouraged to express themselves creatively and take part in a variety of drama activities to music. They will have the opportunity to explore different senses, use their imaginations and connect with other participants and an experienced facilitator via a digital platform. Participants will have the chance to develop communication skills and be creative in a fun, playful environment.
Wednesday 14 April, 10am (via Zoom)
A fun and creative online session for disabled and non-disabled young people ages 10 – 15. A chance to dance, be creative, meet new friends online, and have lots of fun dancing with us in your own home. There will be a warm up, creative dance ideas, learn a short phrase, and make your own dance. Please bring a scarf and a large piece of paper and some colourful pens to the session. Make as much space around you as you can, to prevent hurting yourself. You may need some support during the session to get online using a tablet or computer.
Friday 16 April, 10am (via Zoom)
Create your own journeys and adventures through movement and sound in this funfilled sensory storytelling workshop. Cat is a practitioner for Snoezelen, a multi-sensory centre in Worcester.
The Courtyard’s Inclusive Easter Workshops are kindly supported by Herefordshire’s a Great Place and the Elmley Foundation through the My Place scheme.
